This has become an obsession for some of us.

Here’s the chart from July 2008 through December 2008. In July 2008, members of Congress, the Federal Reserve, Treasury and OFHEO were all saying that Fannie and Freddie were adequately capitalized. At the same time, HERA was being passed, which gave them power to take control. In July, Fannie common traded over $20. By September, hedge funds had been given advance notice of the conservatorship and the common shares traded at $7. After the conservatorship announcement, shares were knocked down to the $1 range, but continued to trade on the NYSE.

No doubt and obsession. I’ve spent countless hours looking at these charts (preferred and common). So many things point to a massive crime.

For those that remember on August 17th, Kyle Bass conveniently released a statement after the crash stating he was out of the GSE preferred. Yeah right,…who caught the knife that day, and who caught the knife on October 1st 2014?
