Obama’s speech on housing could move shares of Fannie, Freddie

A Thursday speech by President Obama about the housing market may move the shares of federally controlled mortgage-finance giants like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, analysts said.
If the president doesn’t discuss housing-finance reform proposals, the omission could lead to a rally in shares of Fannie FNMA, +1.83% and Freddie FMCC, +1.40% according to research from Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, a New York-based investment bank.
