Citing Lack of Timely Notice, Judge Blocks Co-op Eviction

A Brooklyn judge has enjoined the Federal National Mortgage Association, known as Fannie Mae, from evicting a co-op owner who had defaulted on her mortgage.
Acting Supreme Court Justice Debra Silber (See Profile) found that the lender had failed to give Lisa Newman at least 90 days prior written notice of intent to foreclose as required by the Uniform Commercial Code.
