    Perhaps I’m naive, but I don’t understand why the Government doesn’t just come out and say what conditions need to be met before FNMA will be released from conservatorship. In the case of the Fed, Janet Yellen, and to some extent her predecessor, have been quite transparent in what their long-term objectives were, but when it comes to FNMA, there is very little indication from anyone at FHFA or FNMA about their intentions. Seems to me that a little transparency would go a long way to creating stability in the housing markets. Their silence makes you wonder what they’re hiding.
