Fannie Mae: John Carney’s Massachusetts Decision Supports The Shareholders

My thanks to Glen Bradford, a frequent Seeking Alpha contributor on Fannie Mae (OTCQB:OTCQB:FNMA), for bringing an article by John Carney in Investor Hub, dated October 22, 2014, to my attention. Mr. Carney has written, as he has in the past, decrying the legal tide turning against Fannie Mae investors. Having read the decision he mentions, I beg to differ.

The decision is Commonwealth of Massachusetts v. FHFA, — F. Supp, 3rd —, 2014 WL 5343293 (D. Mass.) This is federal district court decision from the District of Massachusetts dated October 21, 2014. In this case the judge dismissed the claims of the Commonwealth ruling that under HERA §4617, the court did not have jurisdiction to hear the case.
